25 -Project No. 55999 – Reports of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
Chad Seely from ERCOT provided an update on ERCOT's proposal for additional capacity sources.
The focus is on demand response resources, targeting 3 to 9 PM during the Summer, from July 1st to the end of September, seeking close to 500 megawatts.
The RFP will be issued on May 8th, with the deadline for offers in mid-June and potential solutions being available by August 1st will also be considered.
Generation resources were deemed unrealistic to meet the timeline, leading to the decision to focus on demand response solutions.
Discussions will continue with Commission Staff and the IMM regarding the budget for the RFP, and a proposed order looking for a good cause exception was mentioned.
“Reliability Must Run” analysis for CPS Braunig units indicates necessity for support in the San Antonio South Texas area, which triggers the RMR/MRA process under specific timelines.

Issues raised in the proposed order were tightened up, and the Commission Staff agrees with the good cause exception.
Unanimous approval of motion to approve the revised proposed order filed by ERCOT.
