There are two submission paths: DocuSign for resources with production load dates and RIOO for projects without.
The RIOO process is project-based and includes a downloadable GIM interconnection template for those seeking exemption or extension.
Projects in the interconnection queue do not need to respond unless they seek exemption or extension and meet specific criteria such as being a generation resource or energy storage resource.
Instructions for completing the RIOO submission include filling out a DOCX template and creating a ZIP file with all referenced documents for each project.
The deadline for the submission is by midnight on April 1, 2025.
There was an issue with DocuSign envelopes being sent to authorized or backup representatives; it should now be resolved.
Exemptions and extensions have a strict submission deadline; no extension to the April 1 deadline is available for the initial request submission.
ERCOT will review extension or exemption requests post-submission for completeness and accuracy.
